Gemcor started making automated fastening systems in 1937, when founder, Thomas Speller Sr., invented the process to boost aircraft production during World War II.
Odyssey Industries in Lake Orion, MI was established in 1984 and initially produced shipping crates and automotive tooling. Then began producing Aerospace tooling in 1989.
Coast Composites is incorporated in California with an initial business focus on monolithic graphite molds for satellite reflectors. In 1990, expanded business into other types of tooling and materials, including steel and aluminum layup molds.
Established in 1995, Global Tooling Systems became a key supplier of aerospace assembly tools for the manufacturing of aerospace structures, located in Macomb, MI.
In 2000, Brown Aerospace was founded in Michigan, and manufactured the first numeric, automated drilling end effector, the “Jet Builder”.
The aeronautic activity at AREVA was established in the early 2000s, to engineer and build assembly systems for the aerospace industry and adjacent markets.
