Ascent Aerospace to Exhibit at CAMX Expo 2022

10/11/2022

Macomb, MI – October 11, 2022 – Ascent Aerospace, a leading provider of tooling systems, factory automation and integration services to the aerospace, defense, and space industries, will be an exhibitor at the upcoming CAMX 2022 event in Anaheim, CA from October 17-20, 2022. CAMX brings together the composites and advanced materials communities for one all-encompassing event.

At the show, Ascent will be showcasing a 3D printed layup mold in booth Y13. This tool is printed with ABS using a smaller bead size, and is capable of cure cycles up to 180°F. Weighing only 120 pounds and printed in about 8 hours, this lightweight tool ensures a faster turnaround for those looking for a quick-turn, prototype tooling option. A trim tool, also printed from the Ascent LSAM machine, will be featured in the Thermwood booth – W2 – to show the wide range of tooling expertise of Ascent Aerospace.

Sean Henson, the Global Product Manager of Composites and Additive Manufacturing for Ascent, will be presenting “Applications in Tooling & Prototyping for Large Format Additive Manufacturing” on October 19 at 11:00am PT. His presentation will highlight the features and benefits of utilizing 3D printed tools, the advantages of using composite materials and the cost savings associated with both.

Lastly, Ascent has teamed up with Veelo Technologies to introduce a HyVarCVeeloHEAT OOA Tool, combining Ascent’s patented HyVarC tool with integrated VeeloHEAT® for Out-of-Autoclave composite processing.  See this application in action at Veelo’s booth – S58.
